Described as “someone to watch in the coming years,” by Elle Décor Japan in 2016, German designer and architect Theresa Rand is garnering international acclaim for the playful, light expression she brings to the objects with which we live. Her Copenhagen studio focuses on discovering unique ways to combine high-quality materials, evident in the Échasse Collection (2017). Inspired by test tubes, these refined forms of smoked glass are anchored by brushed brass bases that resemble stilts – échasses in French. Each vase is mouth blown in a steel mold. This collection is produced by the Scandinavian brand Menu, a company founded on a desire to “make the world better, less complicated and a little nicer to wake up to.” Made in China.
