About the Studio

Our Tree Studios location is housed in one of Chicago's landmark buildings, designed by Hill and Woltersdorf in 1912. Originally intended for use as artists' residences, the Tree Studio is one of the largest Design Within Reach showrooms. Our unique layout and presentation offers several floors of furnishings, showing off our large selection of lounge designs, workspace furniture, accessories, lighting and much more. Conveniently located in the heart of the River North furniture district, the studio is steps from Michigan Avenues Magnificent Mile of shopping, as well as the world famous Merchandise Mart. Studio Proprietor Sal Sanoy, an architect by training, along with her knowledgeable staff provide expert, knowledgeable and personalized assistance.

EVENTS Design Time Sundays Every Sunday, 11am-3pm We’ve set aside Sundays to open the Studio to anyone looking for a little advice or a fresh eye on their interior design. Bring in a floor plan, blueprint or pictures of your space and we’ll help you choose the right product, whether it’s for your home or office. Feel free to drop in, or call for an appointment at a time that’s convenient for you. Coffee and juice will be served. All American Picnic Saturday, July 4, 12-6pm Celebrate the 4th of July with a courtyard barbeque and products made in the USA. Join us for a patriotic picnic, with food grilled on our own Notebook Portable Grill. We’ll be featuring our many products that are made in the United States, including the new AmericanModern collection that celebrates both American design and American craftsmanship, and our new eco-friendly Adirondack Chairs, made in Minnesota and perfect for summer fun.
