About the Studio

DWR stands for Design Within Reach, and we believe in making good design accessible. The DWR: Tools for Living assortment embodies this belief. The secret these items share is smart design. Each one is unique in how it solves a problem or makes something more comfortable or easier to use. In that way, they are not just objects, but more like tools.

The first DWR: Tools for Living store is situated in the space that once housed our first Manhattan DWR Studio (now relocated to 110 Greene Street). SoHo, being Manhattan's premiere shopping district, is the ideal setting for DWR's first cash-and-carry location. Whether visiting from overseas, another U.S. city or even another borough, you'll be able to experience what many DWR fans have craved for years: instant gratification. With free, custom gift wrapping, DWR: Tools for Living is also NYC's best bet for smart solutions for work, kitchen, travel, outdoor and gifts. DWR's resident blogger Bradford Shellhammer runs the shop with his friendly and helpful staff.

EVENTS Eco-friendly Entertaining Thursday, November 6, 7–9pm Sustainable celebrations. DWR: Tools for Living welcomes environmentally aware party planner Danielle Venokur (www.dvgreen.com) to the SoHo store on November 6. Through her company, dvGreen, Venokur helps her clients minimize their footprint without compromising style.
