About the Studio

DWR stands for Design Within Reach, and we believe in making good design accessible. The DWR: Tools for Living assortment embodies this belief. The secret these items share is smart design. Each one is unique in how it solves a problem or makes something more comfortable or easier to use. In that way, they are not just objects, but more like tools.

Situated in the SoHo space that once housed our first Manhattan DWR Studio (now relocated to 110 Greene Street), the DWR: Tools for Living shop offers what many DWR fans have craved for years: instant gratification. Everything in the store is cash-and-carry, so you can start using our assortment of travel, workspace, kitchen, bath and outdoor products straight away. (In the case of the Fog Linen Slippers and the Bath Towel Set, we'd prefer you wait until you got home.) Plus, we offer complementary gift wrapping.

EVENTS Jansen Chan Dessert Tasting Thursday, June 18, 7-9pm Design Within Reach: Tools for Living is proud to host a dessert tasting event with Jansen Chan, executive pastry chef of Oceana Restaurant. Chan combines classic baking techniques with his background in architecture to develop desserts that are meticulously crafted and beautifully presented. He will join us at DWR: Tools for Living to share some of his full-flavored desserts and speak about the process behind the design of his creations. RSVP by June 15 to tflsoho@dwr.com.
