We offer a discount to qualified architects, interior designers and design professionals working on a single residence or small project. As a member of the DWR To-the-Trade program, you'll receive exceptional tailored services – including COM and COL. Trade Accounts can be applied to all catalog and store merchandise.
Become a member
One of the following credentials is required to open a Trade Account:
- Current business or state professional license in a residential or commercial design-based business, or the hospitality industry
- Proof of current AIA or IDI provincial registration
- Proof of current ASID membership
- Interior design certification (e.g. NCID, CCIDC)
- W9, Federal ID form, or official document showing EIN number
- Resale or Sales Tax Certificate
Plus, all of the following:
- Business card that indicates your current design profession/title
- Links to your website and/or LinkedIn, Facebook and any other websites that state your firm’s most current profession and/or design
- Examples of your past and/or current design/architectural work (links to online portfolios, scanned photos or printouts of articles/blogs/sites that showcase your firm’s work)
Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email requesting your supporting documentation. It is required that you reply to this email with your business documentation attached in order to complete your membership request.

Our Studio sales associates and Connecticut-based customer service and sales teams are all trained to work with trade professionals. After opening a Trade Account, simply place your order at a DWR Studio or by calling 1.800.944.2233.

Offering contract-quality, authentic furniture that upholds the tenets of good design is the foundation of DWR's business. Architects, designers, developers and property owners like you have always been our customers, and our Contract Sales division is devoted to serving your specific needs.

Invitation and/or application of the Trade Program does not guarantee automatic membership or discount. Design Within Reach will grant Trade Program membership status entirely on a discretionary basis. Enrollment is contingent upon receipt of appropriate credentials. Approved applications will receive a confirmation email within two business days with a customer account number. This is not a credit card application. Terms & Conditions are subject to change.
The To-the-Trade Program discount is nontransferable and cannot be combined with any other promotions or discounts. The discount does not apply to Gift Cards, shipping charges and taxes. Offers cannot be applied to past purchases. At the DWR Outlet, valid only on regularly priced items. This discount is available, in stores or by calling 1.800.944.2233. We reserve the right to change the list of items not eligible for the Trade discount at our sole discretion without prior notice. Membership is not transferable. A Trade membership discount can only be used by the named professional, and must present his/her valid Trade number and photo identification in person to receive the trade discount at time of purchase. Misuse of membership may result in membership termination. Misuse includes, without limitation: use of the trade discount for personal purchases, any resale of merchandise purchased using the trade discount through any retail outlet (e.g., resale on or through any retail or auction Web site or store), reimbursement of trade discount upon merchandise return, transfer of membership, allowing others to use the membership (e.g., sharing the card with a client), and submitting false, expired or misleading information in connection with a membership application.
