Danish modern design emerged from the work of furniture makers in Denmark after World War I, especially Kaare Klint, who influenced many other designers, including Børge Mogensen, Hans Wegner and Jens Risom. Finn Juhl was another influential designer, whose Credenza (above, 1955) epitomizes the simple form, attention to craftsmanship, functionality and natural materials that are hallmarks of the Danish modern style.
The Odin Extension Table (2014) by contemporary Danes Norm Architects pairs seamlessly with classic Wishbone Chairs (1949) by Hans Wegner – an indication of the timelessness of great Danish modern design.
