Copenhagen-based designers Aleksej Iskos and Boris Berlin provide industrial, furniture and graphic design services for a variety of clients. The two met in 1999 when Iskos joined Komplot Design, which Berlin co-founded, and a decade later they left that firm to launch their own design partnership. Together, Iskos and Berlin approach design “as an art of storytelling,” and they often let the materiality of objects define the language of their designs. Their Soft Edge 32 Stool (2015) for Danish design collective HAY uses 3-D molding techniques to deliver strong curves and extreme lightness. All the edges of the ultra-thin seat bend away from the body, delivering ultimate comfort for constant dynamic movement, as well as a pleasing aesthetic. Made in Latvia.
