The prolific architect and designer Piero Lissoni is based in Milan and operates a satellite office in New York. After opening his studio in 1986, he worked on his first project for Boffi, and his client list quickly grew to include Alessi, Artemide and Kartell. He later delved into architecture, building a portfolio that includes hotels, corporate headquarters and private homes around the world. From structures to furniture to accessories, Lissoni works magic with simple, clean lines. He strives to create buildings and interior furnishings “that are clean and more or less silent.” In 2005, Lissoni was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame, established to recognize those who have made significant contributions to design industry growth. His light, ultra-streamlined Lizz Chair (2007) was named after Liz Taylor, who may not have been flattered to know that the chair has a wide seat and backrest. Still, this comfortable chair has an understated elegance that’s hard to ignore. Lizz is fashioned as a single piece out of scratch- and weather-resistant technopolymer material using glass-blowing technology. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use and stackable up to six high. Made in Italy.
