Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have worked together as joint partners at their own design firm since 1999 and have been collaborating with Vitra since 2000. With work ranging from architectural projects to furniture, tableware, and home accessory design, the primary focus of the brothers' work is dedicated to the design and organization of interior spaces. Following this framework they created Algues (2004), an unconventional design that functions both as a decorative element and interior architecture and is modeled after plant life. The plastic Algues link together to create web-like textures, ranging from light curtains to thick, opaque partitions that act as room dividers. Twenty-five Algues yield one square yard of mesh. Algues are supplied in packs of 25 and are available in Light Green, Green, White, Black, Red, Pink and Transparent. Made in Germany.
