Taking a brand new angle on small-space shelving, Andrea Summerton’s Angle Shelf (2008) has a
streamlined geometric shape that plays with three-dimensionality and proportion. Made in the U.S. from
powder-coated steel, the shelves work great on their own or can be grouped together in interesting and
creative ways. Summerton launched her design studio, ALS Designs, in 2009 after her training at the
Rhode Island School of Design and an apprenticeship with furniture designer Vladimir Kagan. Her design
intention is to “make well crafted, timeless and unique home furnishings built and designed exclusively
in the United States and made from ‘healthy’ eco-friendly materials.” The Angle Shelf comes either left
facing or right facing and in powder-coated gloss white or matte black. The shelf hangs on the wall with four keyhole cutouts, and a template is included for easy installation. Made in U.S.A.
