The American Modern 6-Drawer Dresser (2008) is inspired by George Nelson’s 1948 Thin Edge case goods. Nelson’s work – whether designing clocks, lamps or furniture – expressed his desire to “do much more with much less.” Still true to Nelson’s straightforward design aesthetic, we’ve made updates to take advantage of today’s manufacturing techniques. These case goods are simple maple structures, which we’ve crafted out of solid FSC-certified wood. They are made with soft-closing drawers, and on the 5-Drawer and 6-Drawer dressers, the drawers cascade in size, from top to bottom, which gives these pieces a sense of movement. A bull-nose edge softly finishes each piece. Made in U.S.A.
