The American Modern Side Table (2008) is inpired by George Nelson’s 1948 Thin Edge case goods. Nelson’s work – whether designing clocks, lamps or furniture – expressed his desire to “do much more with much less.” Still true to Nelson’s straightforward design aesthetic, we’ve made updates to take advantage of today’s manufacturing techniques. These case goods are simple maple structures, which we’ve crafted out of solid FSC-certified wood. The Side Table includes one soft-closing drawer and a large open cabinet for easy access to books, reading glasses and the like. A bull-nose edge softly finishes the edges of this piece.
