Co-founded in 1925 by aspiring young engineers Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen in Denmark, Bang & Olufsen is renowned for its distinctive range of premium music systems and high-performance speakers. Drawing on close to 90 years of experience, B&O collaborates with top designers to create products that boast a combination of state-of-the-art components and refined style. When challenged by B&O to create a portable sound system, Danish industrial designer Cecilie Manz began with one essential question: “How would I like to use and handle such a product?” Her answer was the Beolit 12 (2011). This wireless, portable sound system turns any smartphone-carrying music lover into a DJ. Sleek and lightweight, it has a rechargeable battery and leather strap for easy toting from room to room. Stream music to Beolit 12 using Apple AirPlay, or connect a device via the built-in 3.5mm minijack or USB port. Max output: 120W. Frequency range: 50–20,000Hz. Backed by a two-year warranty (three-year if registered). Made in China.
