Inspired by a bollard – a short, thick post on a dock, to which a ship’s rope may be secured – the Bollard Oil Lamp (2008) evokes the same sort of peaceful waterside feel. Just as bollards mark the transition from land to water, several of these lamps placed strategically can light and partition different outdoor areas with the warm, inviting, flickering glow characteristic of oil lamps. With its stout teak base, ribbed glass jar enclosure and stainless steel vented lid and carrying handle, Bollard appeals to the senses while standing up to the outdoors. Hang it on a branch, rest it on a table or place it on the ground to achieve your desired effect. The distinct glass casts interesting light patterns on your surroundings. Fill Bollard with standard lamp oil, available at hardware stores. Made in Thailand.
