The classic Chesterfield seating, with button tufting and rounded armrests, is given an entirely new interpretation in the Chester Lit Sofa (2009). The DWR Design Studio asked Deep Design (Italian designers Raffaella Mangiarotti and Matteo Bazzicalupo) to help fine tune this innovative outdoor seating solution. We knew Mangiarotti would understand our design constraints – her Dandelion Lamp is now included in MoMA’s permanent collection. This product’s unique and innovative drainage system – a proprietary invention of Serralunga, our manufacturing partner – ensures that Chester will stand up to the elements. Simple assembly required for the light fixtures. Made in Italy.
Install the included light fixtures by removing the plastic cap on the bottom of the Sofa. It is necessary to drill holes in the bottom to accommodate the fixtures’ screws.
The two included light fixtures will illuminate the entire Sofa.
Included light fixtures come with energy-efficient compact fluorescent bulbs. Fixtures are UL rated and include ten-foot cords that plug into any standard 120-volt outlet.
