Suki Cheema is a former print designer for Diane von Furstenberg, who encouraged him to follow his dreams and create his own line of textiles inspired by his travels. Cheema is the first to admit that he has a love affair with art and travel – both of which were satisfied when he spent a year traveling around the world – but he's quick to add, "Travel may broaden the mind, but home is where the heart is." A graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, Cheema has an incredible ability to transform simple sights into modern prints and woven textiles. His City Wall Throw (2010) is a modern interpretation of the brick-and-mortar walls found in old forts built by the Maharajas hundreds of years ago. Cheema saw their high walls when traveling through Rajasthan, India, and immediately knew he had to find a way to capture the textures and patterns in his work. This 100% cotton, all-natural dye product is handwoven by local artisans in India, with whom Cheema works to develop new weaving techniques for the loom. Made in India.
