La Mamba Studio, based in Valencia, Spain, is a group of four designers that are committed to the creation of “friendly objects, the imagination of new situations and useful products.” Their Cork Footed Circular Mirror (2011) is friendly, useful and full of imagination. The design was inspired by a desire to make a normally static object – a large mirror – more mobile, and therefore, more flexible. The design brief had one word: “move.” Beyond mobility, though, the handmade Cork Footed offers material innovation and, like all mirrors, a visual lightness and the impression of more space in a room. Designed to be able to lean against a stable surface, the Cork Footed Mirror also has a hole in the back to secure it to the wall. Made in Spain.
