One of the leading providers of premium leathers in the world today, Spinneybeck began as a small
Canadian company founded by Charlie Manchee in 1962. Working out of a rural schoolhouse next to
his farm in Stouffville, Ontario, Manchee built his business by offering only the finest quality leathers,
and it wasn't long before he became a go-to resource for top-notch clients around the world. In the
1980s, Spinneybeck moved to a converted stable in Niagara Falls, New York, where it continues to
be headquartered today. The Spinneybeck Cowhide Rug is a very large, quality hide from Italy. Each
rug is one of a kind, with its own unique natural markings. At nearly six feet in length, these hides are
impressive in size and can be doubled up for double the effect. As for the name "Spinneybeck," it is
a combination of "spinney," the Old English word for woods, and "beck," the Viking word for brook or
stream. Together they are references to nature's contribution to the craft of leather making. Made in Italy.
