“I always thought my great aunt Grace was very cool” says Angela Adams, “because she could whistle with two fingers.” Capturing a pattern that could represent a burst of light or sound – or Grace’s whistle – Adams’ Grace Rug (1999), like many of her creations, was inspired by the people and places she loves most. In a color only available at DWR, the Grace Rug has a depth and texture that’s highlighted by Adams’ intuitive use of color and its luxurious, thick pile. The edging is resolved without having to use a band, and the smooth cotton backing is attached using a natural rubber latex adhesive. The Grace Rug is hand-tufted New Zealand wool with a cotton backing that won’t scratch floors. All Angela Adams rugs are responsibly handmade by skilled artisans.
