When Christopher Farr painted Italy's Lake Como in the 1970s, he never imagined that the watercolor would later inspire a rug. However, it's really no surprise, considering Farr approaches the floor as the fifth wall. His Como Rug (2006), available only at DWR, is similar to the other pieces in his rug collection in how it has the power of an abstract canvas for the floor. Its fields of harmonious color can enlarge the feeling of a room or bring balance and focus to the elements of a space. Suitable for residential or contract settings, Como is made using ancient rug weaving techniques. The 100% wool is hand spun, hand tufted and manually dyed in small batches to create rich tonal nuances in the strands. The Como Rug will grow even more beautiful with time as the wool's natural lanolin emerges and invigorates the surface, creating enhanced luster over the years. Made in India.
