Designed by Jens Risom for Knoll®
Part of the first collection designed for Knoll®, Jens Risom created the Risom Round Dining Table in 1941. Its straightforward, smart design is compactly scaled for a kitchen nook or apartment living. Risom emigrated from Denmark to the U.S. in 1939 and is now regarded as one of the masters of mid-century American design. This fully licensed classic is manufactured by Knoll according to the original and exacting specifications of the designer. Made in U.S.A.
Made from solid walnut with mortise-and-tenon joints, this is a sturdy, heirloom-quality piece.

Unlike architect Alvar Aalto or Hans Wegner whose international influence remained rooted in Finland and Denmark respectively, Jens Risom emigrated from Europe to the U.S. when he was just 23 years of age. Like other Scandinavian designers such as Josef Frank and Kaare Klint, Risom continued to honor tradition in modern design, combining old and new in highly original ways.
