The upholstered 20-06 Counter Stool (2006) shares the same tensile strength as other aluminum Emeco seating – three times that of steel. Designed to stand alone or pull up to any counter height surface, it is the result of a collaboration between manufacturer Emeco and London architects Foster & Partners, both experts in aluminum fabrication. The Counter Stool features hand-welded construction that follows the same 77-step process developed in 1944 when Emeco first created its 1006 Navy Chair for use on WWII submarines. With its indestructible anodized finish and attached vinyl seat pad, it is suitable for light outdoor use. Like its 20-06 counterparts, the Counter Stool has an estimated 150-year lifespan – longevity that means less impact on the earth’s resources.
