Fueled by a passion to return Danish design to its innovative greatness of the 1950s and ’60s, the husband-and-wife team of Mette and Rolf Hay established their own collective Hay in 2002. Since then, they’ve accrued numerous awards for their work, including a 2012 Bo Bedre Award for today’s brightest stars in Danish design. Hay has collaborated with established designers like Scholten & Baijings and also nurtured emerging talent, producing a range of lively pieces. Characterized by two artfully placed contrasting colored buttons – one of a different color on each side – the Dot Pillow (2009) takes a contemporary design and wraps it in Kvadrat’s iconic 1965 Hallingdal fabric. Stylish and decorative enough for any sofa, this pillow provides a great way to add a pop of color to neutral furniture. Made in China.
