The designers for Lamborghini stores, clothing and accessories, as well as the renovation of the Lamborghini Museum in Italy, Gabriele and Oscar Buratti have been a powerful design team since 1991. Both are trained as architects, and Gabriele is also a professor of interior design at the Politecnico di Milano. Their work has been honored with an IF Design Award and selected for the ADI Design Index. In creating their Doyl Chair (2011), they challenged themselves to invert the topography of a typical chair." The use of padding enabled us to invert the classical shape of the leather seat, which is normally concave," says Gabriele. "In this case we made it convex to create an original design." The fact that it also enhances comfort was an "a-ha!" moment for the designers. "The stitches remained a remarkable graphic feature," adds Oscar. "Not as a decorative trait but as the identity of the chair." The Doyl Chair is upholstered in a single hide of thick leather that is folded, curved and turned inside out but never cut and pieced together. The result is a refined and elegant chair with classic proportions and enduring comfort. "A good project is a good idea that has been developed almost to perfection," says Gabriele. Made in Italy.
