Originally designed for Ian Schrager's Hudson Hotel in New York City,
the Hudson Collection (2000) combines the contemporary styling of
Philippe Starck with Emeco's classic 1944 naval-ready form and 77-step
construction. When asked about the collaboration, Starck replied,
"Working with Emeco has allowed me to use a recycled material and
transform it into something that never needs to be discarded - a
tireless and unbreakable chair to enjoy for a lifetime. It is a chair
you never own, you just use it for a while until it is the next person's
turn." The black seat pad is made to fit any Hudson Chair or Stool in
the collection and easily attaches with Velcro straps. Not suitable for
outdoor use, the durable vinyl can stand up to frequent use, even in
contract settings. Made in U.S.A.
