Lambswool Throw in Purple
Designed by Amanda Pratt
In 1723, a co-operative mill was started in County Wicklow, Ireland, where farmers could spin and weave their wool into tweeds and blankets. All the yarn was uncolored at first, but then the farmers started experimenting with natural vegetable dyes and soon the mill's output was brightened with reds, greens and yellows. The business thrived for more than two centuries, but the mill hit hard times. By 1960, the looms were abandoned and the mill was in disrepair. In the 1970s, a young couple with a family were handed a flyer advertising the property for sale, and the rest, as they say, is history. Still run by that family today, the mill has stayed true to its heritage, weaving rugs, throws and scarves out of wool, mohair, cotton and linen. Their warm and luxurious Lambswool Plaid Throw is made using all-natural dyes and only natural fibers. This blanket is great for throwing over the bed, a sofa or yourself. Made in Ireland.
