The modern uplighter, first made popular by Joe Colombo in the 1970s, has been reinvented for maximum usability in Jasper Morrison's Luxmaster Floor Lamp (2000). Designed to provide multidirectional lighting from a free-standing source, the Luxmaster's plastic-encased head fully rotates 360° and is height adjustable to provide direct light or uplighting. The lamp's clear cord remains neatly wrapped around the base regardless of the shade's height adjustment. An on-cord dimmer takes the light from 0-100% luminosity.
