Based on a European platform bed, the high-density 4" foam mattress rests on a wood platform, which means there are no crossbars disturbing your sleep. This sleeper doesn't require any wall clearance, which means that less space is required in front of the chair to pull out the sleeper. The space is saved by removing the gap that many sleepers have between the mattress and the back of the sofa or chair, which also solves the problem of your pillow falling into that gap while you sleep.
