This mixed-materials table collection is the work of Air Division, a studio founded in 1999 by five young designers, including Nathan Yong, who designed our Line Collection. In creating the Mapp Table (2011), the designers understood our request for a simple table that worked equally well in small and large sizes and gave customers a variety of materials from which to choose. The collection is informed by the clean and simple construction of the Parsons Table, a form designed by Jean-Michel Frank when he was teaching at the Parsons Paris School of Art and Design in the 1930s. The notable form has legs positioned at the ends of the table, which maximizes legroom and makes Mapp suitable for a dining table or desk. The tabletop options include marble, acrylic or wood, which are paired with solid wood frames made of black walnut or white oak. These tables ship flat to save on packing materials. Made in U.S.A.
