Morgans Chair - Polished
Twenty-four years after the Morgans Hotel introduced the world to the concept of the boutique hotel experience, this New York City landmark was in need of updating. Hotel owners Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell, who are the former owners of Studio 54, had only one choice when choosing a designer for the task. Namely, Andrée Putman, who had designed the original rooms in the early ’80s. The new rooms include the Morgans Chair (2008), which Putman created with Emeco, the Pennyslvania-based furniture manufacturer famous for its 1006 Navy® Chair (1944). The Morgans Chair, like all Emeco chairs, is made with a 77-step proprietary process that transforms 80% recycled aluminum into a material that has the strength of steel. The result is a chair that is so durable that it has an estimated lifespan of 150 years. Made in U.S.A.
