Based in Rome, Rosanna Contadini had the big idea of combining the old-world techniques of knitting, crocheting and knotting with an industrial material like Neoprene®. The result is a Crocheted Rubber Basket(2007) that's very touchable and has a bit of a punk attitude. The synthetic 8mm rubber yarn is produced in an Italian factory, and the baskets are hand woven by a cooperative of women who each bring their traditional techniques to the process. Each hand-crocheted basket varies slightly. Made in Italy.
