“The underwater world is one of my greatest inspirations,” says Angela Adams, designer of the Ocean Rug (2007), “and this rug makes me feel like I’m swimming right through it.” Crafted of 100% New Zealand wool, and combining cut and loop pile, the Ocean Rug has the appearance of movement, like a changing tide. Anyone familiar with Adams’ custom rugs will recognize Ocean as part of Sea Fantasy, which is in her Couture Collection of collectible works of art. The Ocean Rug’s edging is well resolved without having to use a band, and the smooth cotton backing is attached using a natural rubber latex adhesive. This backing will not scratch floors, and a DWR Rug Pad is recommended to keep the Rug from sliding. The Ocean Rug is made in India and Adams is a proud member of Rugmark, which ensures that her rugs are manufactured in a socially responsible manner.
