The classic Chesterfield seating, with button tufting and rounded armrests, is given an entirely new interpretation in the Chester Armchair (2009). The DWR Design Studio asked Deep Design (Italian designers Raffaella Mangiarotti and Matteo Bazzicalupo) to help fine tune this innovative outdoor seating solution. We knew Mangiarotti would understand our design constraints – her Dandelion Lamp is now included in MoMA’s permanent collection. Crafted from roto-molded polyethylene, Chester has the added feature of an optional Light Fixture (sold separately), which can be installed in the bottom. Plus, its unique and innovative drainage system – a proprietary invention of Serralunga, our manufacturing partner – ensures that Chester will stand up to the elements. Made in Italy.

• Optional Light fixture can be installed by removing the plastic cap on the bottom of the Armchair. It is necessary to drill holes in the bottom to accommodate the Fixture’s screws (included with purchase of the Light Fixture).
• One Light Fixture will illuminate the entire Armchair.
• Optional Light Fixture comes with an energy-efficient compact fluorescent bulb. It is UL rated and includes a ten-foot cord that plugs into any standard 120-volt outlet.
• The Chester Collection also includes a Sofa.
