Take three influential and established Italian designers, working for the innovative Milanese lighting company Luceplan, add a unique design challenge – to create a simple, intelligent ceiling lamp – and what do you get? The Metropoli Lamp (as well as a Compasso d'Oro Award in 1994). Designers Alberto Meda, Riccardo Sarfatti and Paolo Rizzatto created a lamp distinguished by its versatility and technical ease. Metropoli (1992) works as either a ceiling fixture or wall sconce in either residential or commercial settings. The diffuser is easily opened to facilitate bulb changing. Metropoli is made from a polished or painted aluminum body and glass diffuser. UL Listed. Bulb (not included): incandescent 100W/A-19 or halogen 75W/T-10. Made in Italy.

The Polished finish can withstand damp environments with indirect moisture, making it an apt choice for the bathroom or covered outdoor space.

The Painted finish should be used indoors, away from damp areas.
