While growing up in northeast England, Phil Procter spent his free time creating sculptures with materials he found at abandoned agricultural and industrial sites. His innate love of sculpting eventually led him to Buckinghamshire New University, where he studied furniture design. Following his graduation in 2010, Procter established his own design studio with a focus on producing functional yet charming items to be enjoyed daily. His space-saving Tab Shelf (2012) is one such item, fashioned by a family-owned sheet metal fabrication company. It features a ridge that runs down the middle for propping up photos and other decorative items, as well as a lip on the front that keeps smaller ones from falling. Tab sits comfortably anywhere in the home, whether it’s by an entryway, over a desk, under a bathroom mirror – wherever more room is needed for treasured odds and ends. Mounts easily with two screws. Made in the Netherlands.
Powder-coated steel shelf and screws; universal wall plugs.
