Tripolina Chair
Tripolina Chair
The Tripolina Chair was introduced at the Saint Louis Fair in 1904 by Joseph Fendy, who patented the design in 1877. The designer, however, is unknown. One of the first known uses of the Tripolina Chair is to equip English troops for nineteenth century war campaigns. The chair has inspired countless other folding chairs, most notably, the Butterfly Chair, which uses curved metal parts in place of wood, and the Kenia Chair by Vico Magistretti. Easy to assemble and disassemble, this versatile design uses a canvas cover with pockets that slip over the frame. A carrying bag is included for easy transport. Made in Brazil.
