Javier Gutiérrez, an anthropologist by training, and Laurent Serin, an engineer and artist, are the creative duo behind the company Adónde. The simple and beautiful objects they create are fun to use, and their goal is to invite people to "own" the product and invent new ways to use it. Standing nearly a foot tall, their Wood and Stoneware Vase (2008) has three removable components – a stoneware cylinder, a hand-painted alder wood cone and a hand-painted alder wood cylinder – that can be arranged in a variety of configurations to fit flowers of different sizes. When two or more vases are combined, the colored components can be mixed for an even more unique piece. Available in White, Pink or Silver, the wooden tops are made in Spain, and the stoneware is made in France.
