Traditional farm tables were the centerpiece of the home – a place for gathering to prepare and enjoy meals, complete projects or just engage in convivial conversation. Our Farm Table (2009) is crafted from solid hickory, chosen for the unique light and dark flaming that occurs naturally in its grain. Construction details like dovetailed joints on the drawers and spline edge joints on the tabletop will allow this heirloom-quality table to be passed on to subsequent generations.

Two convenient drawers for storage of utensils, linens or cookbooks (or as the classic catch-all “junk drawer”).

Large footprint makes it spacious enough for extended family and friends, seating up to eight people comfortably.

Made in U.S.A.

DWR Design Studio created the Harvest Drop Leaf Table (2008) using the design principles that embody the Shaker approach to furniture. This table has a sturdy and symmetrical form that’s defined by its functionality. Simple and austere, two drop leaves increase or decrease the footprint depending on immediate needs. Wooden pegs fold out to support the leaves when they’re raised and act as stoppers when the leaves are folded down. The modern maxim that form follows function was phrased by the Shakers as, “beauty rests on utility,” which is an expression found in Shaker literature. This reference to beauty does not imply ornament or decoration, both of which the Shakers avoided for fear of encouraging the sin of pride. Rather, this beauty is inherent to a useful object, and “that which has in itself the highest use possesses the greatest beauty.” Made in U.S.A.

Extendable tables that open with a simple lift and slide cannot be beat in terms of ease and safety, which is what makes the glass-topped Spanna Table so appealing. When closed, it fits into compact kitchens and dining areas to comfortably seat four people. With the design's seamless extension mechanism, the table smoothly extends to accommodate up to six people, with plenty of legroom to go around. The extension mechanism also ensures that the leaves properly align, and that the table provides years of use - even with frequent opening and closing. Sturdily constructed, the Spanna is always stable, never wobbly. Clean lines, slightly tapered legs and an elegant mix of wood and tempered glass take the table into casual and formal homes and commercial spaces. Made in Italy.

In the 1960s, Hans Wegner (pronounced veg-ner in English) softened the edges of what was typically thought of as Danish modern. Eliminating the sharpness found in other designers’ tables and chairs had an impact on aesthetics and comfort, the latter of which was paramount to this designer. The bull-nose edge on the Tondern Table (2009) is an example of this, in how it gives the table a more elegant, finished look, while also making the table edge more comfortable for diners. Another classic Wegner touch is the use of two woods: walnut and oak.

The brass trestle provides sturdy support with a minimal amount of material.

The exposed hardware is in keeping with Wegner’s belief that nothing should cover up or interfere with functionality.

Made in U.S.A.
