After learning this Recliner (1912) had been discontinued, we worked with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to bring it back into production. Wright originally designed this Recliner, along with a Sofa that we’ve also brought back, for the William B. Greene House in Illinois. The design, which originally used a series of moveable pegs to provide various backrest angles, now has a simple sliding mechanism that allows the user to remain seated while changing positions. This Recliner is an authentic, fully licensed product of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

Decades have passed since this collection was in production, and Risom worked closely with us in every step of its return, from reviewing prototypes, to adjusting tiny details, to advocating cost effective changes in the manufacturing process. The Jens Chair and Ottoman (2008) look the same as the ones made in 1949, but thanks to Risom’s input, they are smarter solutions that take advantage of resources and tools that weren’t available 60 years ago.
To create the Shaker Settee, we worked with a New York company that's been making furniture since 1807. The mill began by making two-inch planks, which were built into flat-bottom scows that ferried salt from New York to Pennsylvania. Those days are long gone, but the plank-shaped front and rear rails on this Settee tell us that this company hasn't forgotten its history. Combining Shaker and Windsor influences, this Settee takes advantage of both handcrafted and modern manufaturing techniques. The seat is slightly shaped for comfort, and the top rail neatly frames the spindles that taper toward the top to provide a visual lightness. Two adults of the three children can be comfortably seated on this piece, and the settee is well suited for use in dining, entry or waiting areas. Made in U.S.A.

English gentlemen’s clubs that were organized in the 18th and 19th centuries were notorious for having secrets and sacred rules, but one tradition that emerged for all to share is the leather club chair. The name “club chair” evolved from these havens for sociability, drinking, smoking and taking refuge from wives. The Pratt’s Club in London, for example, had a strict rule, that should a woman call on the club, the answer was always to be “Madam, no married member is ever in the club.” (Interestingly, when the founder died in 1860, it was his wife who kept the club going.) The Ray Club Chair, like the comfortable chairs that endured the follies of aristocrats and nobles, is designed with cushions that both envelop and support the body, wrapped in rich leather that will only get softer with time. A refuge after a long day, the Ray Club Chair welcomes you and fits you like a glove, all from the privacy of your own home, where you make the rules and no dues are required. Made in U.S.A.

Made with a patented sleeper mechanism, the Soto Sleeper Sofa (2009) is easy to open and unfold into a comfortable queen-sized sleeping surface. The length of the bed is a full 80", yet it uses 12" less space than conventional sleeper sofas. The space is saved by removing the gap that many sleep sofas have between the mattress and the back of the sofa, which also solves the problem of your pillow falling into that gap while you sleep. What’s also unique about Soto is that the apron of the sofa actually moves with the mattress, giving the open sleeper the finished look of an actual bed. The sleeping surface is based on a European platform bed, and consists of a high-density 4" foam mattress that rests entirely on a wooden platform, which means you won’t feel the sturdy crossbar underneath.

This full-length sleeper accommodates queen sheets.

Overall depth is 83" when open.

Made in U.S.A.

An additional $50 handling charge applies to the delivery of this item.

In 2005, we posed a challenge to award-winning designer Jeffrey Bernett to create a recliner that didn't look like a recliner. Armed with experience designing ergonomic in-flight seating for Northwest Airlines, Bernett took us on willingly. He designed the Flight Recliner, in collaboration with Nicholas Dodziuk, to have none of the bulkiness or macho pretense of a traditional recliner. Upright, the Flight Recliner functions as a comfortable, streamlined club chair. Opened, using a patented conversion mechanism that takes only a slight, seated push to activate, it unfolds to hold the body aloft, with support from head to toe. A stainless steel sleigh base provides stable footing. The frame is protected by a lifetime warranty. Made in U.S.A.

Modern sofas often tout minimalist appeal, but few can also claim the comfort of Ted Boerner's Theatre Collection (2001). The Sofa, Two Seater and Armchair are all designed to accommodate the human body with studied proportions and simple geometry. The result is comfort that stems from its form, rather than excessive layers of stuffing and upholstery. The gentle angling of the backrest, full seat depth, and elevated armrests are eminently suited to living rooms or reception areas. Boerner's signature artisan details are evident throughout these handcrafted pieces. A gleaming chromed steel base runs the entire depth of the design, and welted seams lend strength and definition to the upholstery. Made in U.S.A.
