Located in Sonoma County, California, Malm started as a sheet metal manufacturer in the 1950s, and some of the original employees dabbled in making fireplaces on the weekends. From weekend hobby to a full-fledged business, Malm was one of the original manufacturers of freestanding fireplaces, and is the only one still in existence today. Since the mid-20th century these fireplaces have been used in iconic modern spaces worldwide. The Fireplace comes with a three-piece flue for ceilings up to eight feet. (Additional flue pieces are available for taller ceilings.) The advantage of a freestanding fireplace is that it heats up and radiates more efficiently. And unlike traditional wood-burning stoves, Malm gives you a clear view of the fire from a variety of angles. Both finishes can be used inside or out, however we do not recommend leaving the white finish outdoors in inclement weather, as it can rust. Check local building and outdoor fireplace codes for installation requirements. Made in U.S.A.

Architect Mogens Lassen approached his design work with mathematical precision. A pioneer of Danish functionalism, his Kubus Candleholder (1962) is a reaction against traditional candlesticks, which he saw as overly ornate and convoluted. Consisting of only the outline of a cube, it is a simple and angular design. This licensed classic has been brought back into production by his grandson, Søren Lassen.

Using soy wax and all-natural fragrances, the Saipua Candle is made in small batches to ensure the highest quality. It’s available in two scents: Cedarmoss is a warm, woody smell, reminiscent of fresh-cut cedar and moist earth, while wisteria/lilac has a light, floral aroma that’s focused on lilac, but with subtle hints of violet and cucumber. The candles are made using all-natural food-grade extracts. They come housed in an old-fashioned glass container, which arrives in a gift-ready, handstamped white box. Burns for up to 80 hours.

Inspired by a Danish coastal way of life, back when fires were used to help ships navigate shores, the Fire Bowl was designed to gather people outdoors by creating a focal point on the patio or beach. Made with an efficient conical shape, the lower bowl collects ash and elevates the flames off the ground to better dissipate heat. The cone grate in the upper bowl creates an air pocket from which the fire can draw, while also creating a more efficient burn by focusing the fire into the center. The simple, efficient design has two built-in handles for portability. Not recommended for use on wood surfaces.
