Muro Media Storage delivers the look and function of a wall-mounted flat panel TV, but without the hassle of hardwiring. Made from unfinished MDF, Muro is ready for paint or wallpaper. Paint this do-it-yourself version the same color as your wall for the ultimate streamlined look, or make it stand out with a different color or wallpaper. The Muro features a wall-mounted load-bearing frame, plus a structural panel with a universal system for hanging a plasma or LCD television. Between the frame and panel, there's a space that holds cables and hides them from view. Furthering the clean look of cable management are slots at the back of each 17.5" x 13.75" shelf. The Muro Media Storage system is suitable for televisions 36" (min) to 50" (max) wide, weighing up to 100 lbs. Each shelf has a weight capacity of 12 lbs. In keeping with the do-it-yourself ethic, the holes for the screws on the front of the Muro are left exposed. To achieve the effect of a solid wall (as shown), simply use standard wood putty to fill in the holes before paint or wallpaper is applied. Assembly required. Made in Italy.

The Titan Media Stand is sleekly designed for minimal impact to your living space. With its small footprint, the Titan gives the illusion of disappearing when filled with components. Even the cords are hidden from view by running through the stem and out the back. Concealed casters allow for quick repositioning of the stand when a better screen angle is needed, thus providing greater flexibility than hardwired wall-mounted installations. The glass shelves measure 35.5" x 14" and hold up to 22 lbs each; the bottom shelf has a weight capacity of 100 lbs. The Titan Media Stand is appropriate for televisions measuring 32-50" wide and weighing up to 100 lbs. Assembly required. Made in Italy.

For those with a lot of books and little space to store them, the Sapien Bookcase (2003) by Bruno Rainaldi provides a unique solution by holding texts horizontally in a vertical stack. When fully loaded, the bookcase virtually disappears behind the books. Made in Italy.

The Tall Sapien’s 14 shelves can accommodate up to 70 small and large books in a very compact footprint.

The Short bookcase has 10 shelves, holding up to 50 books.

Doron Lachisch’s Cubitec Shelving (2008) combines the exceptional strength and stability of injection-molded polypropylene with simple, modular design. With the new incarnation of Cubitec, we worked with Lachisch to create one system that can solve most storage dilemmas. Designed with a corrugated core, the shelving is superbly strong and lightweight, while optional Doors and Backs can transform the system into a concealed cabinet. Depending on your needs and the configurations of your space, Cubitec can be attached vertically or horizontally with enclosed hardware. One kit creates up to four shelves and each shelf holds up to 55 pounds. The new Cubitec is all about options: 10" or 13.25" deep shelves with open or concealed storage and a horizontal or vertical layout. Please note: the Cubitec and Cubits products we carried before 2008 will not be compatible with version. If you have questions about which Cubitec you already own, please call us at 1.800.944.2233.

Seeing a need in the market for a smart credenza for media, dining or office storage, we contacted industrial designer Sean Dix. Our only request: Make it with tambour doors. As he developed his concept, Dix studied sliding doors and found that designers typically cover the area where the door bends around the corner into the frame to hide unattractive gaps of unfinished wood. Dix solved this issue by using a special tool to cut extra-narrow slats while removing very little material. The result is minimal gapping, which makes for a graceful, more fluid curve.

All four sides are finished, allowing the option of floating in a room.

Cable management openings are placed discreetly underneath the piece.

Brass legs adjust from the top, where they are concealed from sight.

Solid walnut frame, partitions and shelves; tambour doors are walnut veneer over a Masonite® backing; solid brass hardware and legs.

One of the greatest problems of media storage is that remotes stop functioning once the unit doors are closed. In looking for a sleek, modern media hideaway that a control signal can penetrate, we discovered the Alto Credenza (1996) by HORM. This unit offers adjustable space for high-tech equipment and glass doors that are clear above for revealed storage and frosted below to conceal items. The far left and center cabinets each contain back wall cord escapes to handle the tangle of lines coming from equipment. Its removable glass shelf is a suitable place to store manuals or reference guides or can be removed for upright storage of beverage bottles. The right cabinet has two CD/DVD pull-out trays that hold up to 64 CDs, 40 DVDs or 35 video-cassettes, and also has an adjustable glass shelf. Levelers on the feet adjust for uneven floors. Made in Italy.

Due to the size, weight and packaging of this item, we strongly recommend our White Glove delivery service. Please review our shipping options. During checkout you will select the option that best fits your needs.

The Sapporo Shelving System (1998) by Jesús Gasca combines the elegant minimalism of Japanese design with Spain’s technically refined modernism to produce a graceful shelving system with a flexible format. The Sapporo System begins with a Base Unit (either with or without casters). Add Body Units to achieve the desired height. (Up to five high maximum using the base without casters, or two high on the base with casters.) The Base Units come with the necessary top, so only one Body Unit and one Base Unit is required to create a one-high storage solution. Sapporo is finished in white on all sides to allow the system to serve as a room divider. Sliding doors can be added without altering the cabinet structure. The doors are available in tempered glass (clear or frosted), transparent plexiglass (pink or anthracite) and opaque plexiglass (orange or red). Mix the colors for a creative look, or combine a color with Sapporo’s clear or frosted doors for something more subdued. Sapporo is suitable for contract and residential use. Assembly required. Design Within Reach is proud to be the exclusive retailer of Stua products in the U.S. Made in Spain.
