Airia (2008) is a streamlined solution that keeps your work area open and clutter-free. Designed by Ayako Takase and Cutter Hutton, who co-founded the Rhode Island-based studio Observatory in 2001, Airia acknowledges technology “but does so in a subtle, integrated and intuitive manner,” says Hutton. Made with a slightly elevated back area that’s made to hold your task lamp and accessories, the Airia Desk clearly delineates where the work area begins, and in doing so, prevents these items from creeping into your way. Integrated cord management keeps wires at bay and allows you to stash the unsightly tangle into the body of the desk. Three removable covers with cutouts allow you to route and access cords and cables. Inside the center drawer are three removable cork-lined organizer trays. The contrasting materials used to create Airia showcase the collection’s quality millwork and sculptural lines. This desk is made with 54% recycled content. The Airia Desk was honored with a 2008 Good Design™ Award. Simple assembly required. Made in China.
