Description

Born in 1918, Copenhagen native Henning Koppel showed an early talent for art, which led him to study sculpture first at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later in Paris. He’s best known for his work in the years following WWII, when he started a lifelong collaboration with Georg Jensen, for which he designed hollowware, glassware and clocks. Koppel earned many accolades over the course of his career, including three gold medals from the Milan Triennale in the 1950s and International Design Award of the American Institute of Interior Designers in 1963. The HK Wall Clock (1978) is marked by minimal design, with simple dots for hour markers on its face and long slender hands. Includes a precision quartz movement for accuracy. Runs on a single AA battery (included). Made in China.
