Beauty in complexity
Brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec founded their Paris-based design firm in 1999, where they work on everything from architectural projects to furniture, rugs, and tableware. Their work has been exhibited worldwide, from MoMA to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. Meticulously handwoven from Afghan wool, their Losanges Rug (2011) features an irregular shape and pattern consisting of individual parallelograms in several sizes and 13 distinct hues for a subtly arresting aesthetic. Made in Pakistan.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec
The brothers Bourouellec opened their joint Paris-based design studio in 1999. Being brothers in addition to business partners allows them to bounce ideas off each other, trusting that difference of opinion will spur creativity. Their products range from furniture, lighting and rugs to porcelain dishware, ceramic tile and jewelry, even window blinds and a TV.
