Driven by a desire to improve the usefulness and enjoyment of everyday objects, George Sowden combines intuitive controls and playful forms in his Sowden Toaster (2020) for HAY. It is equipped with a practical browning dial, making it effortless to attain the optimal toasting level, and a “stop” button if you decide to cut the timing short. The flat top doubles as a warming tray, where you can quickly warm a croissant or roll, and the slide-out crumb tray in the base is easy to clean.
- Top doubles as a warming tray; rest your toast, croissant, or baguette on top to warm it.
- Easy to use dial timer.
- Slide-out crumb drawer in base.
- Will fit a bagel.
- Automatically pops up when done, or you can press the stop button to cut the timing short.
