A playful mix of shapes and materials, this limited-edition sculpture by Brooklyn-based designer Pat Kim makes an eye-catching centerpiece for a table or an attractive artwork for a home office or living room. Anchored by a teardrop-shaped maple wood form in the center, the sculpture has the feeling of movement in how the brass arc connects the oak cube and leather disk. Each sculpture is handcrafted in Kim’s Brooklyn woodworking studio and is one of a numbered limited edition of 100.

Pat Kim

Pat Kim's curiosity was encouraged by his uncle who taught him, as a kid to create objects out of found materials. This led naturally to an interest in industrial design and since his graduation, he opened a cooperative woodshop on the shores of the East River in Red Hook, Brooklyn. And that’s when Kim's enchantment with the wood lathe emerged, along with the sculptural shapes it encourages.
