Durable delight

Working out of their Amsterdam design studio, Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings practice what they call an atelier way of working. Their Paper Porcelain Collection (2015) began with the desire to create a porcelain object that looks like folded cardboard or thick paper. Thin yet durable, the Paper Porcelain Small Plate is made from ceramic with slight speckles throughout to mimic the look of recycled paper. Each piece is meticulously etched and painted by hand. Made in Japan.
