Details
The Soft Pad Collection (1969) of luxuriously padded chairs by Charles and Ray Eames evolved from their Aluminum Group Collection, with the same innovative seat-back suspension and sculptural metal frame. With the addition of soft, two-inch-thick cushions and a relaxed pitched back, it retains all the style but layers in significant comfort. It comes in two versions, both with a swivel base: a lower three-cushion back or a high four-cushion back with tilt mechanism.

Charles and Ray Eames
Design is for living. That maxim shaped a widespread shift in design during the 1940s and '50s. It was a revolution of form, an exciting visual language that signaled a new age and a fresh start – and two of its prime movers were Charles and Ray Eames. This husband-and-wife team's unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Sleek and simple. Beautifully functional.
