On the dot

Designed by the groundbreaking modernist Nanna Ditzel, the Dennie Footstool (1956) was named for her daughter. The chair and footstool were in the Ditzel household but never widely produced until Onecollection brought this comfortable and cozy design back into production. Its polka-dot like seat is attractively paired with a sleigh base in chromed steel. Upholstered in Hallingdal wool-blend fabric, designed by Ditzel in 1965, and still one of Kvadrat’s best-selling products. Made in Denmark.

Nani Marquina

“My job is chasing beauty,” Nani Marquina told DWR in 2007. “The fullest place where you can find beauty is in nature. I love to stare at spectacular landscapes.” A common thread that runs through her innovative and conceptual floor coverings, the natural world – its shapes, colors and textures – has informed Marquina’s work since she launched her company in 1987.
