Founded 1960 (Tehran, Iran)
Abraham Moradzadeh was a teenager when he opened his first rug shop in Iran in 1960. After moving with his young family to the United States in 1980, he re-opened in Los Angeles as Abraham Rug Gallery, and 25 years later his son Sam joined the company with a plan to expand and modernize the offerings to include rugs by contemporary designers and manufacturers. Now called Woven, the family company also produces its own designs while continuing to offer vintage and antique rugs, many of which Abraham Moradzadeh still sources himself.
