Support in action

The Series 7 Chair (1955) features an ideal shape for the human body, with a back that offers a bit of give to keep your upper body comfortable and a waterfall seat that supports your legs for extended periods. This version includes a 360-degree swivel mechanism, pneumatic lift for easy height adjustment and casters for ready mobility. Arne Jacobsen shaped the core of Danish design identity with this chair by forming it from a single piece of plywood narrowed in the middle with three different bends. This is the authentic Series 7 Chair by Fritz Hansen. Made in Poland.

Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen began training as a mason before studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where he won a silver medal for a chair that was exhibited at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs. Jacobsen’s work remains appealing and fresh today, combining free-form shapes with the traditional attributes of Scandinavian design, material and structural integrity.
